30 Minute Hill Climbing Indoor Trainer Workout with Overlay Data. This is a ride up Mt Coot-tha in Brisbane it's one of the hills myself and lots of other cyclists train on to get stronger. The best place to train for cycling is on hills they are hard work at times but the more you practice the better you become at going up them.
you can either use my power meter data or heart rate data on screen or go with the zones on screen.
There are two ways to go up hills you can grind up using the smaller gears on the back cassette or spin up using the bigger gears on the rear cassette, spinning is generally easier but grinding up when your training is a good way to help build muscle and get stronger on the bike. Also you can go up hills in the saddle or out of the saddle practicing both ways is a good way to become a better climber.
If you train more on hills you will become a better bike rider all round whether your up the front in a lead group or climbing hills or out on a ride on your own.
This video was filmed using a Garmin Virb Elite bike mounted camera and edited using the virb elite software.
